Adopt a Car

The Adopt-a-Car and Adopt-a-Train-Seat Program offers individuals, families and organizations the opportunity to invest in the care of the Marshall Steam Museum collections and demonstrate their support for antique auto & railroad preservation. “Adoptions” also offer great opportunities to honor or recognize friends and family — by adopting a car or train seat in their memory or honor — and declaring their ongoing legacy and passion for vintage cars & trains.

All of the cars on regular display in the museum and each of the seats on the AVRR’s new rail cars are available for adoption. Each car may have up to two adopters per year; train seats are limited to one per year. The “adoption fee” is $150 for one year (from date of adoption) or $250 for two years (save $50!).

Car adopters will receive recognition on signage in the museum and on the website (please allow 2 weeks for signage to be in place; we’ll try to be faster but sometimes daily dramas interfere) and, if requested, a “Certificate of Adoption” and photo of their chosen vehicle. Train seat adoptions are acknowledged on the actual train seats.

Adoption Benefits include:

• Your name (or “in Honor of” or “in Memory of” message) on the car’s museum label or on the train seat for one year
• An official adoption certificate and image of your chosen vehicle or of the AVRR train, if requested
• The satisfaction of knowing that your support helps to maintain and preserve the amazing collections at Auburn Heights and enables the museum to engage and delight visitors of all ages!
