Joseph Boxler Education Fund

Inspiring New Generations

When Joe Boxler joined the Friends of Auburn Heights (FAH), he brought not only a youthful spirit and vitality to volunteer work sessions but also a sincere respect for the impact of steam technology across generations. His curiosity and tenacity were immediately apparent, and he became a valued FAH member and friend.

Following Joe’s tragic death in October 2007, Dorothy, Dan and Anthony Boxler partnered with FAH and established the Joseph Boxler Education Fund to honor his memory and share with others the energy and enthusiasm he brought to every undertaking and to support educational programs at Auburn Heights. Despite his young age, Joe appreciated automobiles and wrote in his journal about the opportunity to join the Steam Team:

“I try to work my hardest during the school year and work during the summer. Two years ago I started my own business mowing lawns. The reason I worked so hard during the summer was because of my passion for cars. I love everything about them from working on them to soon driving one! I got the chance of a lifetime to volunteer at Auburn Heights.”

Individuals who wish to contribute to the fund may do so by sending a check (made out to FAH, with “Boxler Fund” in the memo) to the Friends of Auburn Heights, P.O. Box 61, Yorklyn DE 19736 or by donating online below.
