Gauge 1 FAQ
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes! The Friends of Auburn Heights Inc. is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All gifts to the Friends of Auburn Heights are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What happens if you don’t raise the entire $35,000 for Phase 1?
The capital effort is set up as a flexible funding campaign, so we can undertake the project in phases, if necessary, and we will keep the web page updated so all who are interested can watch our progress.
Once funds are raised, how long will it take to build the Gauge 1 layout?
We created a schedule and anticipate it will take approximately 1 year from the time we have all funds in hand to fabricate the necessary turnouts and track components and assemble the layout on the site. Weather, of course, will play a role, so much will depend on the timing and Mother Nature.
Who is handling the money?
The Friends of Auburn Heights Inc. is the sponsor and a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization registered with the State of Delaware. You can read more about them and their board of directors here: Friends of Auburn Heights.
