Donate to the Annual Fund

The magic & excitement continues! It was a year filled with milestones as we celebrated the 100th birth year of our founder, Tom Marshall, and the 20th anniversary of the Friends of Auburn Heights.

It has also been a year of building—both literally and figuratively:

  • Breaking ground on the Yorklyn Valley Railroad
  • Unveiling a new car barn for the Auburn Valley Railroad
  • Introducing a new event: Holiday Trains at Auburn Heights
  • Building bridges with new Girl Scout badge programs
  • Welcoming a (new-to-us) Stanley Steamer into the collection

In this year of celebrations, birthday parties reminded us of the power of Auburn Heights to create lasting memories. From one gentleman celebrating his own 100th at a Steamin’ Day to a 2-year-old delighting in her special day, these moments remind us that Auburn Heights remains a place where joy, laughter and memories are made and shared across generations.

Tom’s legacy lives on in everything we do as we strive to spark connections, curiosity and wonder. The spirit is infectious, prompting visitors to comment:

“Auburn Heights is a wonderful place, but it is the people who make it so very special.” – Post-event email, June 5, 2024

“This is a fantastic museum with lots of fun activities for both kids and adults… we even got to ride on a train and steam cars—such a unique experience! Highly recommend for a fun and educational day out!” – 2024 Google review

In this spirit, one generous supporter has issued a challenge grant in honor of Tom and all who follow in his footsteps: if we raise $40,000 by December 31, this donor will gift an additional $10,000! Will you help us meet the challenge and put the final candle on Tom’s birthday cake in 2024?
