Scout Programs

The Marshall Steam Museum is a great place to bring your scouts for a private program to work on different badge and patch requirements. Visit on a public Steamin’ Day to complete our exclusive Steamin’ Day Fun Patch (see details below).

 Steamin’ Day Fun Patch

The Marshall Steam Museum offers a museum fun patch for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Patches are earned by completing a specified number of activities (dependent on scout level) in our Scout Activity Booklet. Certain activities can be completed at home while others must be completed during a visit to one of our public Steamin’ Day events (First Sundays, June through November, 12:30 to 4:30 pm). Scouts must bring their completed Scout Activity Booklets to the Museum Gift Shop during their Steamin’ Day visit, where patches may be purchased for the discounted rate of $2 per patch.

Patch Requirements

Tiger Cub/Daisies: Must Complete 4 Activities
Wolf/Brownies: Must Complete 6 Activities
Bear/Juniors: Must Complete 8 Activities
Weblos/Cadettes & Above: Must Complete 10 Activities

The Steamin’ Day Fun Patch may be earned as part of a troop/group visit or by an individual scout with the help of an adult companion. Also keep in mind that you may be able to complete other program requirements during your visit. Please feel free to contact our Director of Education at (302) 239-2385 or by email for more information.

Arranging Your Visit

Our public Steamin’ Day events are scheduled for the first Sundays of the month, June through November, 12:30 to 4:30 pm. If you would like to give our Director of Education a heads up, you are more than welcome to, but working with a staff member and making a reservation is not required to complete the patch program. Just let the gift shop attendants know that you are working on the Steamin’ Day Fun Patch, and they will know to give you the discounted rate of $2/patch.
